A May for Me Revision

Ok, one of my May for Me things was to start an online Bible study. And another was to relax. These two things don't go hand in hand in my world right now. So, instead of doing it online, I'm going to do something offline.

I've been spending WAY too much time on the computer. Time I should be in my Bible. Time I should be sewing, time, time time. I find myself sitting with my chin propped in my hand, just sitting there looking at insignificant things. I catch myself wanting to check my email countless times a day. So, I decided to spend less time on this thing and that means, no online Bible study. I'll find something I can do in the quiet moments of my day.  I read Dr. Stanley's daily devotional, and rush through it, and I feel bad about that because I'm always in a rush! . So, I'm going to stop rushing, (one of my other May for Me items) and find something I can relax and pay attention to. Wish me luck!

That's ok. I like Heather's M4M - turn it off challenge - take a day of just turning all the electronic and techie gadgets OFF. I like that idea and chose Sunday for my 'solitude' day. Good luck, but I hope we still hear from you.

Sounds like a fantastic idea! Quiet time with no computer or TV - like Heather says!

I have found I have to limit my time on the computer, because I love it. So, I check my emails and Google reader blogs early in the morning and then at lunch (between 10-noon)and in the evening before I go to bed. I work at home, quilting all day long, so my fun time is my sewing and the computer. We live out in the country, so there is no one around all day long. It is very quiet here and I love it that way.

Enjoy the quiet times they are so important...

oh, i feel the same way. i complain that i don't have time to do certain things, and then what am i doing all day and night? wasting time online. and i end up with nothing to show for it. i should be reading, crafting, cleaning, ANYthing other than spending this much time online.
thanks for the reminder.

Enjoy this time! Reading and devoting time to God's word is the best. I get In Touch magazine each month but don't read it as much as I would like but I spend a good part of my morning reading a devotion and the scripture in the bible to go with what I read. Think about it, how can you apply what God's word says to your life and read what is around the one scripture for the day. What time you can give is so worth it. Then spend time relaxing by whatever comes to mind. I have a few books I am going to read during this time and a bible study. Enjoy!!
